The Difference Between Flash and HTML5

Since we introduced our latest All-HTML5 webcasting player, we've been inundated about questions concerning the difference between Flash and HTML5 from our clients and partners.

Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. The HTML5 specification has been around for a few years, and has recently picked up steam since Google, Microsoft and Apple announced the blocking of Adobe Flash in their newest browsers by the end of the year.

Chrome Browser will Default to HTML5 by the End of the Year

In May of this year, Google circulated an internal draft proposal to effectively block Flash from their Chrome browser and prioritize HTML5 by the end of the year. Today we've learned that the company will be going ahead with the plan to "demphasize" Flash, by disabling the plug-in through multiple versions of Chrome.
